Unlike other sock style shin guards these have an extra ridge of padding over the shin bone and on top of your foot. So they provide just as good if not better protection for your shins and feet then regular pro style shin guards you can find on the market. Don't take my word for it try them yourself. Also, you can though these in the wash if keep them smelling mint try that with bigger bulky PVC or Leather shinguards.
